Seminary Names New Director of Spiritual Formation


LATROBE, PENNSYLVANIA — Rev. Charles A. Byrd, Jr., a priest of the Archdiocese of Atlanta, has been named Director of Spiritual Formation. He is a 1982 graduate of Newman High School, Georgia, and received a diploma in advertising from the Portfolio Center, Atlanta, in 1985. He had an eleven-year career in advertising in Louisville, Kentucky, and Atlanta, before beginning studies for the priesthood.

He earned a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy from Saint Vincent College, Latrobe, in 1997; the S.T.B. from Gregorian University, Rome in 1999; and the S.T.L. from Angelicum University, Rome in 2001.

Prior to his appointment at the Seminary, he had served as parochial vicar at Saint Andrew Parish, Roswell, Georgia, from 2001-2003.
