Statement of Archabbot Douglas R. Nowicki, O.S.B., on the Appointment of Father Timothy F. Whalen as Rector of Saint Vincent Seminary

Saint Vincent Archabbey and Seminary is deeply grateful to Bishop David A. Zubik and the Diocese of Pittsburgh for granting permission for Father Timothy Whalen to serve as the new rector of Saint Vincent Seminary.

Father Whalen has had a wealth of experience in administrative leadership as the chancellor of Orchard Lake Schools in Michigan for the past twelve years, and in pastoral ministry, serving in a variety of pastoral assignments as a priest for 33 years.

Father Whalen’s commitment to the education and formation of young men preparing for ministry provides a great resource for Saint Vincent Seminary as it continues its 165-year tradition of priestly formation for service to the Church.

In the name of the entire Saint Vincent community I extend a warm welcome to Father Whalen and heartfelt gratitude to Bishop Zubik and the Diocese of Pittsburgh for his continued support of Saint Vincent Seminary.
