Diakonia Award To Greensburg Seminarian

Deacon Craig Alexander, S24, who is scheduled to be ordained a priest for the Diocese of Greensburg this spring, is the recipient of the 2023-24 Diakonia Award for student service at Saint Vincent Seminary. The Diakonia Award is presented to a fourth-year seminarian who is scheduled to graduate and whom both the student body and the faculty recommend as exhibiting outstanding academic performance, service to the seminary community through contributing to student morale and spirit, leadership within the community and creative outreach to others. In conferring the award, the faculty and staff said Deacon Alexander characterizes the meaning of diakonia, or service: “This student has been a good example of servanthood for others and a calm and dedicated man of prayer, study and commitment to God and the Church throughout his time at Saint Vincent Seminary.” Deacon Alexander and Bishop Larry J. Kulick are the only two from the Diocese of Greensburg to receive the Diakonia Award during their time in the seminary.
