Gospel According to Paul Lecture Topic by Dr. Scott Hahn

Dr. Scott Hahn will discuss “The Gospel According to Paul” during the fourth annual lecture of The Pope Benedict Chair of Biblical Theology and Liturgical Proclamation at Saint Vincent Seminary. Dr. Hahn will be available after the lecture to meet those attending and to sign books.

The lecture, which is free and open to the public, will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, at The Robert S. Carey Performing Arts Center on the Saint Vincent College campus in Latrobe. Seating is limited, so please call 724-805-2041 for reservations.

A native of Pittsburgh, Dr. Hahn served as a visiting professor at
Saint Vincent Seminary in 2000, before joining the faculty in 2005. He has also served as a Professor of Theology and Scripture at Franciscan University of Steubenville since 1990.

He is the Founder and President of the Saint Paul Center for Biblical Theology. His books include Reasons to Believe—How to Understand, Explain, and Defend the Catholic Faith, published by Doubleday in 2007 and Letter & Spirit: From Written Text to Living Word in the Liturgy, which was published in November of 2005. Previous works include Swear to God: The Promise and Power of the Sacraments, (Doubleday, May 2004); Scripture Matters: Essays on Reading the Bible from the Heart of the Church (Emmaus Road, November 2003); Lord, Have Mercy: The Healing Power of Confession (Doubleday, March 2003); First Comes Love: Finding Your Family in the Church and the Trinity (Doubleday, May 2002); Hail Holy Queen: The Mother of God in the Word of God (Doubleday, April 2001); The Lamb’s Supper: The Mass as Heaven on Earth (November, 1999); A Father Who Keeps His Promises (Servant Publications, August 1997).

In addition, he served as co- author (along with his wife, Kimberly) of Rome Sweet Home: Our Journey to Catholicism (Ignatius Press, 1993).
