Seminary Welcomes 26 New Students

LATROBE, PENNSYLVANIA — Saint Vincent Seminary welcomed twenty-six new students for the 2005-2006 academic year. They are from the Archdiocese of Atlanta, the dioceses of Altoona-Johnstown, Covington, Harrisburg, Ogdensburg, Pittsburgh, Savannah, Steubenville, Wheeling-Charleston, Youngstown; Saint Vincent Archabbey, Subiaco Abbey, Arkansas; the Order of Sacred and Immaculate Hearts in the Diocese of Steubenville. There is also a new lay student in the Master of Arts program from Uniontown.

ARCHDIOCESE OF ATLANTA

Ricardo Botello is the son of Franciso and Elitania Ayala Botello of Atlanta. He is a 1996 graduate of Secondaria Tecnico #100 in Morelio, Michoacan, Mexico. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy from the University of Texas, El Paso, in 2005.

Salomon Garcia Cortes is the son of Alfredo Garcia Garrio Bribiesca and Maria Delfina Francisca Cortes of Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico. He is a 1998 graduate of Santa Maria de Guadalupe in Morelia, Michoacan. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy at Saint Joseph Seminary College in Saint Benedict, Louisiana, in 2005.

James G. Laccetti, of Atlanta, is the son of George T. and Joann T. Laccetti of Atlanta. He graduated from Peachtree High School, Chamblee, Georgia, in 1988. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from Georgia State University in 1994.

Armando Herrejón-López is the son of Salomón Herrejón and Lucía López Ruiz of Ciudad Hidalgo, Michoacán, Mexico. He attended the Diocesan Seminary of Morelia in Michoacán. There he graduated from high school in 1991 and earned a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy in 1995 and a theology degree in 1999.

Dominic T. Tran, is the son of Cahn Tran and Ri Ha Tran. He is a 1991 graduate of Vinh An High School, Vietnam. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy from Divine Word College Seminary, Epworth, Iowa, in 2000.

DIOCESE OF ALTOONA-JOHNSTOWN

Cornelius K. Anyanwu is the son of Christopher and Elizabeth Anyanwu of Mbaise, Imo, Nigeria. He is a 1991 graduate of St. Peter-Claver Seminary Okpala in Owerri, Nigeria. He received a bachelor of philosophy from the Seat of Wisdom Major Seminary, Owerri, in 1999, where he continued with graduate studies in theology.

Abuchi F. Nwosu is the son of Felicia Ukamaka Nwosu of Lagos, Nigeria. He is a 1993 graduate of the Model Comprehensive Boy’s School in Inyi, Enugu, Nigeria. He earned a bachelor of philosophy degree from Bigard Memorial Seminary in 1999.

Brian Warchola is the son of Larry and Frances Warchola of Central City. He is a 2000 graduate of Shade High School, Cairnbrook. He earned an associate degree in specialized business from Cambria-Rowe Business College, Johnstown, in 2003.

DIOCESE OF COVINGTON

Matthew A. Cushing is the son of Dennis and Carol Cushing of Overland Park, Kansas. He is a 1993 graduate of Rockhurst High School, Kansas City, Missouri. He earned a bachelor of science degree in computer information systems from Devry University in 1997. He earned his master of divinity from Kenrick-Glennon Seminary in 2004.

DIOCESE OF HARRISBURG

Dwight D. Schlaline is the son of John and Diane Schlaline of East Berlin. He is a 2000 graduate of Delone Catholic High School in McSherrystown. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in classical languages and philosophy at Franciscan University of Steubenville in 2003.

DIOCESE OF OGDENSBURG

Jon K. Dunham is the son of Karl and Stephanie Dunham of Tupper Lake, New York. He is a 2002 graduate of Tupper Lake High School. He studied at Clarkson University from 2002-2005.

Michael Fallon is the son of William and Mary Fallon of Ellicott City, Maryland. He is a 1989 graduate of Gonzaga College High School in Washington, D.C. He has studied at LeMoyne College, Howard County Community College, The University of Maryland and the Catholic University of America.

Patrick A. Richey is the son of Donald and Michele Richey of Dillsboro, Indiana. He is a 1995 graduate of Oxford High School, Oxford, Alabama. He studied at Troy State University, Troy, Alabama; Saint Louis University, St. Louis, Missouri; and Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.

DIOCESE OF PITTSBURGH

Daniel J. Langa is the son of David and Julia Ann Langa of Butler. He is a 2001 graduate of Slippery Rock High School. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy from Duquesne University in 2005.

Michael A. Zavage, Jr. is the son of Michael and Joan Zavage of Carmichaels. He is a 2001 graduate of Carmichaels Area High School. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy from Duquesne University in 2005.

DIOCESE OF SAVANNAH

Rosendo R. De La Cruz of Tifton, Georgia, is the son of Ruperto De La Cruz Juarez and Felipa Nery Florian del Cid of Escuintla, Guatemala. He is a 2002 graduate of Waltham High School, Waltham, Massachusetts. He also studied liberal arts at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton.

DIOCESE OF STEUBENVILLE

Michael W. Gossett is the son of David and Loretta Gossett of Steubenville, Ohio. He is a 2001 graduate of Catholic Central High School in Steubenville. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in media studies and political science from Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio, in 2005.John E. Labrise is the son of John and Josephine Labrise of Wexford. He is a 1982 graduate of Quigley High School, Baden. He earned a bachelor of science degree in business management from Saint Vincent College in 1986 and a master of arts degree in college student personnel from Bowling Green State University in 1992. He studied at Pontifical College Josephinum from 2002 to 2004, where he earned a bachelor of philosophy degree.

DIOCESE OF WHEELING-CHARLESTON

José M. Escalante is the son of Manuel Sanchez of San Vincente, El Salvador and Francisa Escalante of La Paz, El Salvador. He is a 1982 graduate of Collegio Technologico Vicentino, San Vicente. He studied philosophy at the Instituto Teologico de America Central and also studied at Saint John Vianney College Seminary, Miami.

DIOCESE OF YOUNGSTOWN

Brian J. Cline is the son of James Cline of Austintown, Ohio, and Patricia Crawford of Elyria, Ohio. He is a 1999 graduate of Boardman High School in Boardman, Ohio. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in English and philosophy from Pontifical College Josephinum in 2005.

Michael A. Marcelli is the son of Robert and Marilyn Marcelli of Dorset, Ohio. He is a 1999 graduate of Pymatuning Valley High School, Andover, Ohio. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy from Pontifical College Josphinum in 2004.

ORDER OF SACRED AND IMMACULATE HEARTS OF JESUS AND MARY

Brother Francis Dankoski is the son of Dennis Dankoski of Steubenville and the late Diane Dankoski. He is a 1990 graduate of the School of Mary Immaculate-Chapel American School in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He earned a bachelor of philosophy degree from Franciscan University of Steubenville in 2000.

SAINT VINCENT ARCHABBEY

Brother Joseph M. Adams, O.S.B., is a son of Paul V. and Rita A. Adams of Lusby, Maryland. He is a 1982 graduate of Wheaton High School. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in history from Saint Vincent College in 2001. He began studies at Saint Vincent Seminary in 2005. He made simple profession of vows July 10, 1997 at Saint Vincent Archabbey Basilica, and solemn profession of vows on July 11, 2000.

Brother Bonaventure Curtis, O.S.B., a native of southern California, was raised in Minneapolis, MN and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, in 1970, majoring in English and Secondary Education. He entered Western State University / Thomas Jefferson College of Law, San Diego, in the Fall of 1975 and completed his studies for the Juris Doctorate degree in December of 1977. He was admitted to the State of California Bar Association the following year and practiced law continuously thereafter. He made his first vows as a Benedictine monk in July of 2005.

Brother John Bosco Miller, O.S.B., is the son of Donald and Jo-Anne Miller of Allison Park. He is a 1979 graduate of Shaler Area High School, Glenshaw. He studied at Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, and received a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy in 1985 from Don Bosco College, Newton, New Jersey. He entered the novitiate at Saint Vincent Archabbey in July of 2001, and made his first vows on July 10, 2002.

SUBIACO ABBEY

Br. Michael D. Endres, O.S.B., is the son of Richard and Rosemary Endres of Fort Worth, Texas. He is a 1982 graduate of Western Hills High School, Fort Worth. He attended the University of the Ozarks, Clarksville, Arkansas, from 2003-2005 and also studied at Tarrant County Junior College, Fort Worth.
