Twelve Installed To Ministry of Lector

Twelve seminarians from Saint Vincent Seminary, Latrobe were installed to the Ministry of Lector on March 18 by Most Rev. Mark Bartchak, Bishop of Altoona-Johnstown. They are from six dioceses and three abbeys, including the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown; Diocese of Covington; Diocese of Erie; Diocese of Metuchen; Diocese of Pittsburgh; Diocese of Steubenville; Saint Andrew Abbey, Cleveland; São Bento Monastery, Brazil; and Saint Vincent Archabbey, Latrobe.

DIOCESE OF ALTOONA-JOHNSTOWN

Vincent Lee Watkins of Warren is the son of Catherine Watkins-Atwood of Warren and the late Lyle James Watkins and stepson of Bruce Atwood. He is a 2000 graduate of Warren Area High School. He received an associate degree in aircraft maintenance technology from the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics, West Mifflin, in 2002.

DIOCESE OF COVINGTON

Vaughn Ross Kelsch of Augusta, Kentucky, is the son of Vaughn and Beverly Kelsch of Augusta, Kentucky. He is s 2006 graduate of Augusta Independent High School, Kentucky. He has studied business at Northern Kentucky University, Highland Heights.
Thomas Frederick Picchioni of Beavercreek, Ohio, is the son of Frederick A. and Sharon C. Picchioni of Beavercreek. He is a 1984 graduate of Carroll High School, Dayton, Ohio. He holds a bachelor of science degree in industrial engineering from the University of Cincinnati, earned in 1999. He has studied pre-engineering at Sinclair Community College, Dayton, and business administration at Indiana Wesleyan University.
James Patrick Schaeper of Fort Wright, Kentucky is the son of Don and Mary Jo Schaeper of Cincinnati. He is a 1989 graduate of Saint Xavier High School, Cincinnati. He earned a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from Xavier University in 1993 and a doctorate in analytical chemistry from the University of Tennessee in 2002.

DIOCESE OF ERIE

Joseph B. Janidlo IV of Franklin is the son of Joseph B. and Margaret M. Janidlo of Franklin.He is a 2008 graduate of Venango Catholic High School. He earned a bachelor of arts degree from Gannon University, Erie, in 2012.

DIOCESE OF METUCHEN

Mauricio Tabera Vásquez of Hopelawn, New Jersey, is the son of Carlos Enrique Tabera and Maria Estella Vasquez of Medellin, Colombia. He is a 2004 graduate of Centro de Estudies Para el Aprendizaje Cepac, Cordoba, Colombia. He earned a degree in philosophy from Seminario Diocesano Santo Tomas de Aquino, Santa Rosa, Colombia, in 2010.

DIOCESE OF PITTSBURGH

David W. Green of Pittsburgh is the son of Dale and Lois Green of Pittsburgh. He is a 1977 graduate of Saint Elizabeth of Hungary High School. He earned a bachelor of science degree in food service management from Johnson and Wales University, Providence, Rhode Island, in 1985. He received a master of education degree from California University of Pennsylvania in 1995. He has also done graduate work at Saint Vincent Seminary and Duquesne University.

DIOCESE OF STEUBENVILLE

Matthew Gossett is the son of David and Loretta Gossett of Steubenville.
He is a 2004 graduate of Catholic Central High School, Steubenville. He earned a bachelor of music education edegree from Ashland University, Ashland, Ohio, in 2008. He received a masters degree in music performance from Kent State Uniersity in 2010.

SAINT ANDREW ABBEY

Brother Louis Carey, O.S.B., of Cleveland in the son of Martin Francis Carey and Kathleen Carey of Euclid, Ohio. He is a 1988 graduate of Benedictine High School, Cleveland. He has an associate degree in applied electronic technology (1991) and a bachelor of electronic engineering technology (1993) from ETI Technical College. He studied philosophy at John Carroll University, University Heights, Ohio, graduating in 2012.
Brother Thomas Sanders, O.S.B., of Cleveland, Ohio, is the son of Gary L. and Joanne E. Sanders of Sheffield Lake, Ohio. He is a 1997 graduate of Brookside High School, Sheffield, Ohio. He earned an associate of science degree from Lorain County Community College, Elyria, Ohio, in 1999; a bachelor of science degree in life science and pre-professional health from Otterbein College, Westerville, Ohio, in 2003; and has done additional studies at the Ohio State University, Columbus (2004-2005) and John Carroll University, University Heights, Ohio (2010-present).

SAO BENTO MONASTERY

Brother Rafael (Milton Arcanjo) dos Santos, O.S.B. of Junqueirópolis, Brazil is the son of the late José Arcanjo and Enedina Ferreira dos Santos. He graduated from Escola Estadual P.S.G. Prof. Geraldo Pecorarî High School, Junqueirópolis, São Paulo, in 1981. He earned a licentiate in philosophy from Faculdade de Sáo Bento, Sáo Paulo, in 2009.

SAINT VINCENT ARCHABBEY

Brother Matthew Clair Lambert, O.S.B., is the son of Walter Clair Lambert of Port St. Lucie, Florida, and Nancy Roth of Kimberly, Idaho. His brother is Danny Lambert, Denver, Colorado. He is a 2004 graduate of Coral Reef Senior High School, Miami, Forida. He earned a bachelor of science degree in English literature in 2008 from Florida State University.
