Saint Vincent Seminary, has welcomed 18 new students in 2019, including 16 new seminarians from seven dioceses and one monastery. Four persons began studies this spring and 14 this fall.
DIOCESE OF BROOKLYN
Randy T. Nguyen of the Diocese of Brooklyn is the son of Chung Nguyen and Chau Bui of Woodside, New York. He graduated in 2011 from the High School for Environmental Studies, New York, New York, then earned a bachelor of arts degree from Hunter College, New York, in 2016. He also graduated from Cathedral Seminary House of Formation, Little Neck, New York in 2019.
DIOCESE OF COVINGTON
Michael K. Elmlinger of the Diocese of Covington is the son of Steven A. and Polly Ann Elmlinger of Union, Kentucky. He graduated in 2016 from Covington Latin School, and earned a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy from the Pontifical College Josephinum, Columbus, in 2019.
DIOCESE OF ERIE
Christopher Alan Beran of the Diocese of Erie is the son of Barbara Ann Beran of Sterling Heights, Michigan and the late James David Beran, Jr. He is a 2006 graduate of Sterling Heights High School. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in sociology from Ferris State University, Big Rapids, Michigan in 2009, a bachelor of philosophy degree from Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit, Michigan in 2011, and a master of arts degree in theology and Christian ministry from Franciscan University of Steubenville in 2013.
Brandon M. Feikles of the Diocese of Erie is the son of Patrick and Mary Feikles of Erie. He is a 2013 graduate of Cathedral Preparatory School, Erie, and earned a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy from Gannon University, Erie in 2017. He has also studied theology at Saint Mary’s Seminary and University.
Cory L. Pius of the Diocese of Erie is the son of Daniel and Lori Pius of Harborcreek, Pennsylvania. He is a 2013 graduate of Harborcreek Senior High School. He earned a bachelor of science degree in management in 2017 and a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy from Gannon University, Erie, in 2019.
Daniel R. Weaver of the Diocese of Erie is the son of Ronald K. and Sandra L. Weaver of Greenville. He is a 2015 graduate of Kennedy Catholic High School, Hermitage. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy from Gannon University, Erie, in 2019.
DIOCESE OF GREENSBURG
Andrew J. Hamilton of the Diocese of Greensburg is the son of William and Donna Hamilton of Ford City. He is a 2015 graduate of Ford City Junior-Senior High School. He studied at Saint Vincent College, then earned a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy from Gannon University, Erie, in 2019.
DIOCESE OF LIMEIRA
Lucas Martins de Oliveira of the Diocese of Limeira, Brazil, is the son of Edison Martins de Oliveira and Margareth Ap. Ferraz de Barros of São Paulo, Brazil. He attended Centro Educacional Pirassununga de Ensino Médio School in Pirassununga, Brazil, graduating in 2014. He earned a degree in philosophy from the Pontificia Universidade Católica de Campinas, Campinas, Brazil, in 2018.

Thien Ban Ho is a seminarian for the Diocese of Metuchen. He is a 2007 graduate of Viet Duc High School, Dak Lak, Vietnam. He has a degree in information technol-ogy from Sai Gon University, Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. He is the son of Tinh Thuc Ho and Truong Thi Dang of Dak Lak, Vietnam.
Van Ai Phan of Vietnam is a seminarian for the Diocese of Metuchen. He is a 2013 graduate of Ham Nghi High School in Ha Tinh, Vietnam. He has also studied at Phu Xuan College, Hue Vietnam. He is the son of Phung Van Phan and Mai Thi Nguyen of Ha Tinh, Vietnam
DIOCESE OF PITTSBURGH
John F. Ferguson of the Diocese of Pittsburgh is the son of J. Raymond and Kimberly Ferguson of Butler. He graduated from Saint Joseph High School, Natrona Heights, in 2015, and studied psychology at Butler County Community College. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, in 2019.
SAINT VINCENT ARCHABBEY
Brother Sean Cooksey, O.S.B., is the son of Dr. Stephen Cooksey of Pittsburgh and Mary Frances Reidell of Pittsburgh. He is a 2006 graduate of Serra Catholic High School. He has studied at the Community College of Allegheny County and Wheeling Jesuit University, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in history in 2011.
Brother João Cassiano da Silva, O.S.B., of Vinhedo, Brazil, is a monk of Saint Vincent Archabbey. He is the son of José Mauro da Silva and Rosângela da Silva of Brazil. He is a 2004 graduate of Escola Estadual Dr. Emilio Silveira of Alfenas. He graduated with a degree in philosophy from the Pontificia Universidade Católica de Campinas, Brazil in 2018.
Brother Angelo (Kurt) Lichtenstein, O.S.B., is the son of Gary Lichtenstein and Maria Alampi of Sandyston, New Jersey. He is a 2008 graduate of Kittatinny Regional High School in Newton. He earned a bachelor of science degree in physics from The Citadel in 2012.
Brother Xavier (Timothy) O’Mara, O.S.B., is the son of Barbara Helen O’Mara of Northborough, Massachusetts and the late John Cornelius O’Mara. He is a 2004 graduate of Saint John’s High School. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in history from Saint Vincent College in 2008.
Brother Gregory Visca, O.S.B., is the son of Michael and Victoria Visca of Valrico, Florida. He is a 2007 graduate of Bloomingdale High School Valrico. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy from Saint John Vianney College Seminary, Miami, in 2011, and a master of divinity degree from Saint Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary in 2012.
MASTER OF DIVINITY, NON-ORDINATION
Eugene E. Yeo of New Kensington is a graduate of Pavilion Central School, Pavilion New York. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in classical rhetoric from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, in 2016. He has also studied at the Byzantine Catholic Seminary of Saints Cyril and Methodius. He began studies at Saint Vincent Seminary in the spring of 2019.
CONTINUING EDUCATION
Katie Zuzik is in the master of arts program in Ecclesial Ministry. The Greensburg resident is a graduate of Milikin University, Decataur, Illinois, where she received a bachelor of arts degree in English-writing, cum laude. She received a bachelor of music degree from Seton Hill University, Greensburg, majoring in sacred music and religious studies, in 2012, and a Pastoral Ministry Certificate in 2011, summa cum laude. She began studies in the spring of 2019.
